For the third consecutive year, Alston & Bird has been honored by the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP) with its annual “Gold Award for Pro Bono Service” for Dallas law firms with 50 lawyers or less.
The award reflects Alston & Bird’s longstanding commitment to pro bono, public interest, and community service work in Dallas. In 2019, the office’s attorneys dedicated more than 3,800 volunteer hours to several pro bono causes, including staffing DVAP clinics and handling a number of consumer, family, and other matters, as well as representing asylum seekers, advising nonprofits, and advancing other initiatives.
Brady Cox, senior associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group, accepted the award on behalf of the Dallas office.
A joint initiative of the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, DVAP is dedicated to increasing and enhancing pro bono legal services to the poor in Dallas through the recruitment, training, and support of volunteer attorneys.
