Alston & Bird has been named the recipient of the 2018 Logan Cup by the United Way of Greater Atlanta.
The award marks the fifth time in recent years that the firm has been honored for its generosity of spirit and civic commitment in support of the annual United Way campaign.
In 2018, Alston & Bird attorneys and staff raised more than $600,000, representing average individual gift amounts exceeding $2,000. Nearly 60 percent of all giving was earmarked toward United Way’s Child Well-Being Impact Fund, which is dedicated to ensuring lasting, collaborative solutions leading to positive and sustainable outcomes for children and families.
The 2018 campaign was co-chaired by Mary Gill, partner in Alston & Bird’s Securities Litigation Group, and Bill Jordan, partner in the firm’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group. They were assisted by Mike Petrik, senior counsel in the firm’s State & Local Tax Group; Mary Benton, national Pro Bono partner and board member of the Atlanta United Way; and Cheryl Naja, director of Pro Bono and Community Services and campaign administrator, along with numerous Atlanta office volunteers.
