For the fourth time in recent years, Alston & Bird has been named the recipient of the United Way of Greater Atlanta’s 2017 Logan Cup, awarded annually to a law firm that demonstrates the highest generosity of spirit and civic commitment in its annual United Way campaign.
Alston & Bird was named the winning firm based on several award criteria, including civic commitment, per-capita and leadership giving, and percentage of participants. This year the firm raised more than $592,000 with over 130 leadership donors and a 15 percent increase in giving.
The 2017 campaign was chaired by Jason Cooper, partner and co-leader of Alston & Bird’s Intellectual Property Practice, who was supported by Mike Petrik, partner in the firm’s State & Local Tax Group and board chair of the United Way of Greater Atlanta, and Cheryl Naja, director of Pro Bono and Community Service, along with the help of numerous volunteers throughout the firm.
