Alston & Bird’s Jason Cooper, partner and co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, has been named one of the world’s foremost intellectual property (IP) strategists for the fourth consecutive year.
Honored in the 2020 edition of Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) Strategy 300 – The World’s Leading IP Strategists, Cooper is identified by the publication as an individual who is leading the way in developing and implementing strategies that maximize the value of IP portfolios.
Cooper focuses his practice on mechanical, manufacturing, and medical device technologies and manages patent portfolios of various domestic and international clients by helping to monetize those portfolios. Additionally, he prepares and prosecutes patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is experienced in all aspects of ex parte and inter partes patent practice.
The ranking is the latest in a series of awards earned by Cooper. He was also named to this year’s Alston Earns Recognition in 2020 IAM Patent 1000 and recognized as an “IP Star” by Managing Intellectual Property in its 2020 rankings of the world’s leading IP practitioners and practices.
The IAM Strategy 300 is based on in-depth research with senior members of the global IP community across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. To be considered for the rankings, candidates must be nominated by at least three people from outside their own organization. Those who qualify are regarded by the publication as “best-in-class” when it comes to helping business and IP owners gain maximum value from their intellectual assets.
