Meet Kelsey Kingsbery - Raleigh Hiring Partner

MEET THE HIRING PARTNERS

  1. Why did you choose to practice law and how did you decide to practice in your particular area of law?

I knew early on that I wanted to attend law school because I wanted to be just like my dad, who is a talented trial lawyer. Luckily, being an attorney turned out to be a good fit for my skill set. Litigation was a natural choice for me because I love to write.

  2. What do you like best about being Hiring Partner?

I very much enjoy meeting the future generation of attorneys. I also cherish the opportunity to play a role in shaping the future of our office and firm by contributing to its future talent and culture.

  3. In your opinion, what makes Alston & Bird a great place to work?

The people. I am so grateful for each of the mentors at Alston & Bird who have selflessly invested in me and my career over the years. My job is as enjoyable as it is because of the people I get to work with every day.

  4. If there was one piece of (career) advice you could provide to a law student, what would it be?

Invest in relationships. Seek out mentoring, pay it forward, forge friendships, and keep in touch.

  5. What was the most memorable recruiting experience for you personally as a law student?

The summer I spent as a summer associate was an incredible experience, and the relationships I built with my fellow class members were special. Though most have moved on to different careers and cities, I am still close friends with many from the class.

  6. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy watching college sports with my family, running, and spending time with my two young children.

  7. What is your favorite quote?

“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi

  8.  Who inspires you and why?

My parents. They are generous, kind, hard-working, and don’t take anything for granted.
