Matt Turk is an associate with Alston & Bird’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group. Before joining the firm, Matt represented clients in a wide variety of innovative technologies at a global law firm where he prepared and prosecuted utility patent applications across a broad range of mechanical and electromechanical technology areas, including aircraft systems, automotive systems, and control systems.
Matt received his J.D., cum laude, from University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, he served as the articles editor for Volume 71 of the South Carolina Law Review, president of Carolina Equality Alliance, a pupil member of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court, and was honored as a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe. He also served as a judicial extern for the Hon. J. Michelle Childs of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. Before law school, Matt completed his undergraduate degree in aerospace engineering at Virginia Tech.
