Alston & Bird has been honored by the State Bar of Georgia’s Access to Justice Committee and the Pro Bono Resource Center with the 2023 “Business Commitment Award.” This award recognizes the delivery of pro bono business law services to organizations providing needed legal resources and services to underserved communities.
The firm has a long history of meeting its professional obligation to provide pro bono legal services and increase access to justice. Retired Director of Pro Bono & Community Engagement, Cheryl Naja, received the inaugural “Cheryl Naja Friend of Justice Award,” which will be awarded annually to a nonlawyer who has provided exceptional service to the community.
Pro Bono Partner Mary Benton accepted the “Business Commitment Award” on behalf of the firm at the State Bar of Georgia’s annual Pro Bono Awards Reception on November 30.
