Alston & Bird has expanded its bipartisan health policy practice with the addition of Jonathan Jagoda, former senior vice president of the Federation of American Hospitals (FAH). Jonathan joins the firm as senior policy advisor in the Washington, D.C. office.
“Jonathan is an experienced professional who has worked on the most intractable health issues of our time. He is a problem solver who knows the health care industry like few others,” said Tim Trysla, chair of Alston & Bird’s Health Care Legislative & Public Policy Group. “We look forward to collaborating with him as our practice continues to see robust growth in health policy.”
“I am proud to have been a member of the FAH team during these important years of my career,” Jonathan said. “I have the highest regard for the organization, the leadership of Chip Kahn, my former colleagues, and of course, its exceptional membership. At Alston & Bird, I look forward to expanding my work to include physician groups, payors, and other stakeholder clients and issues.”
Jonathan led the congressional affairs division of the FAH, representing nearly 1,000 community hospitals and health systems in both urban and rural areas across 46 states. He developed and executed the FAH’s legislative strategy on behalf of the organization’s acute, post-acute, and behavioral health member hospitals.
Earl Pomeroy, Alston & Bird senior counsel and former long-time congressman from North Dakota, said, “Jonathan has proven to be a superior strategist and advocate. Because of his significant experience, he will immediately make a valuable contribution to our practice, one which already has senior depth in almost all aspects of health policy”.
