Alston & Bird’s Zack Higbee and Dan O'Connor, senior associates in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, have been named “2022 Rising Stars” by Managing Intellectual Property, which recognizes up-and-coming intellectual property practitioners in private practice.
Higbee focuses his practice on all aspects of U.S. and international patent prosecution, review, and IP counseling, as well as advising on IP licensing and transactional matters, copyright, open source, and trade secret issues.
O’Connor advises clients on patent solicitation and patent portfolio management for a wide variety of technologies, with a focus on high-tech software, electromechanical devices, industrial manufacturing processes, power-storage devices, and internet-connected hardware.
The rising star honors are the latest recognition for Alston & Bird’s IP team by Managing Intellectual Property. In May, the publication ranked 14 Alston & Bird partners “IP Stars,” as well as ranking three of the firm’s IP practices nationally and two practices at the state level.
Managing Intellectual Property bases its individual attorney and practice rankings on client and peer recommendations and research across more than 50 jurisdictions worldwide.
