Alston & Bird has been recognized as a global leader in trademark law in the 2020 edition of the World Trademark Review 1000: The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals.
In this year’s report, Alston & Bird earned two state rankings and four individual lawyer rankings.
- In North Carolina, the firm was ranked gold. It was described by the publication as “one of the largest trademark practices in North Carolina. The well-resourced national firm partners with prestigious companies around the globe to render watertight protection for sizeable trademark portfolios along with well-thought-out strategic brand advice.”

The ranked attorneys are:
- Michele Glessner and Larry Jones, both based in the firm’s Charlotte office and both ranked silver. The publication highlights the two attorneys: “Glessner is impressive – not only does she know trademark and copyright law back to front, she has an engineering background and deep patent knowledge as well as excellent language skills, including in Arabic and French. Sources describe her as a ‘bright, even-keeled lawyer with excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to handle sophisticated portfolios.’ Jones’s more than 40 years of litigation and international enforcement experience make him a discerning choice for nuanced trademark infringement cases.
- David Stewart and Jason Rosenberg, based in Atlanta, both of whom received a silver ranking. As described by the publication: David Stewart “is looked to by Fortune 100 companies for an authoritative take on brand strategy and effective representation in litigation. ‘Exceptional among local IP attorneys,’ Jason Rosenberg is the go-to guy for incisive enforcement of trademark rights, particularly in the digital domain.”
