Andrea Nixon, an associate in Alston & Bird’s Finance Group, has been named by The National Black Lawyers as one of its “Top 40 Under 40” in New York and appointed to the organization’s Top 40 Under 40 executive committee.
The award recognizes outstanding black attorneys under the age of 40 who demonstrate superior leadership, reputation, influence, stature, and profile as a black lawyer. Only 40 black lawyers from each state or region are selected for membership each year. Membership in the organization is by invitation only and is extended exclusively to attorneys who excel in their profession or promote diversity.
Concentrating in structured finance, Nixon was recognized for her work representing financial institutions and other capital market players in asset-backed financings across a broad range of asset classes, including single-family rental properties, real estate owned properties, business purpose loans, and other residential and commercial mortgage loans.
A graduate of William & Mary Law School, Nixon was a member of the National Moot Court Team, National Trial Team, and founding editor of the William & Mary Business Law Review.
