Alston & Bird has expanded its corporate transactions and securities capabilities with the addition of Jeremy Silverman and Soren Lindstrom as partners in the firm’s Atlanta and Dallas offices, respectively. Silverman joins from Dentons and Lindstrom from McDermott Will & Emery LLP.
“Jeremy and Soren are both veteran M&A practitioners, with deep and varied experience in all aspects of complex U.S. and cross-border transactions,” said Scott Ortwein, Alston & Bird partner and co-leader of the firm’s Corporate & Business Transactions Team. “They are proven deal-makers with keen business insight who excel in helping clients deal with difficult issues.”
Silverman has more than 20 years of experience representing private equity funds, public companies, and closely held businesses in mergers and acquisitions and other complex commercial relationships, including joint ventures and strategic alliances. In addition to advising clients in the financial services, health care, retailing, and technology industries, he has a robust practice advising on transactions involving aerospace and defense companies and other organizations with significant government contracting businesses and is a frequent author and speaker on corporate transactions involving government contractors, as well as Section 363 deals.
A community leader, Silverman serves as chairman of Autism Speaks Georgia and is an advisory board member of both Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta and Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.
Lindstrom has a broad M&A and capital markets practice based on 20 years of experience advising clients in a number of industries, including technology, telecommunications, private equity, life sciences, health care, and industrials. He represents public and private companies in U.S. and international M&A, tender offers, and strategic alliances, in addition to advising clients in IPOs and other securities transactions and providing counsel on U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission compliance and general corporate governance.
A native of Denmark who is qualified in Denmark and speaks multiple languages, Lindstrom regularly advises Scandinavian and other European companies in U.S. legal matters, including M&A. He is a founding member of the Danish-American Chamber of Commerce Southwest and a board member of the Texas General Counsel Forum.
“Jeremy and Soren are incredibly talented and respected corporate attorneys,” said David Brown, co-chair of Alston & Bird’s Corporate Practice. “Their broad-based M&A and capital markets experience is a great fit for our clients across multiple sectors, including financial services, private equity, government contracting, and health care.”
