Andrew Ligotti’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation with an emphasis on patent disputes. He is a member of the New York office hiring committee and takes an active role in the firm’s various mentoring programs. Andrew represents clients in federal court cases and appeals involving diverse technologies ranging from internal combustion engines to video compression codecs, including those which leverage his mechanical engineering background such as fuel management systems, fracturing operation systems, cold chain shipping containers, industrial automation components, and retractable roof systems. Andrew’s experience includes securing favorable results for clients in dozens of post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Andrew channels his passion for emerging technologies to guide startups and counsel them on the cultivation of their intellectual property portfolios.
Andrew received his J.D. from The University of North Carolina School of Law. He also holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, sits on the Georgia Tech Bar Association Executive Committee, and guest lectures at Columbia Business School on intellectual property topics.
