Amanda Newton Wellen focuses her practice on complex commercial, multidistrict, and class action litigation defense, with particular focus on cybersecurity and data privacy litigation. She has defended putative class actions in a wide variety of forums, include federal and state court and in arbitration. Amanda’s clients include industry leaders in the health care, logistics, telecommunications, and insurance spaces.
Before joining Alston & Bird, Amanda served as a judicial clerk for the Hon. Timothy C. Batten of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she served as an executive board member of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and was involved with the Business Law Society. Before law school, Amanda worked in Washington D.C. for members of the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives. She received her B.A., cum laude, in politics and English from Washington & Lee University.
