• Represented a European banking institution in the monetization of non-performing loan portfolios totaling more than $2 billion.
• Defended hedge funds and their board of directors against arbitration claims arising out of investments in PIPE funds.
• Represented an offshore liquidator in Chapter 15 recognition proceedings before the Southern District of New York.

Insurance Litigation

• Defending numerous policyholder class actions for nationwide insurance carriers.
• Defending a national auto insurance carrier in a class action alleging privacy violations.
• Obtained dismissal of a total-loss automobile class action brought against a national auto insurance carrier in Georgia.
• Defended a national life insurance carrier in cost cost-of of-insurance class action litigation across the country.

Blake Simon is a senior associate with Alston & Bird’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group. He represents clients across multiple industries in all facets of complex commercial litigation, with a particular focus on class action defense, insurance matters, financial services litigation, and fintech. Blake has advised Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, investment funds, and other commercial and consumer finance companies in cases in state and federal courts and arbitrations across the country, including matters involving breach of contract, business torts, breach of fiduciary duty, and transactional disputes.

Blake graduated with his J.D. from Emory University, where he was a notes and comments editor for the Emory Law Journal and received the Dean’s Award for constitutional law. During law school, Blake served as a judicial intern for the Hon. T. Jackson Bedford Jr. of the Superior Court of Fulton County. He received his B.A. in organizational studies from the University of Michigan.
