Laurel Newman advises high and mid-net worth clients, including families, individuals, and businesses, in tax and estate planning matters. She has experience drafting special needs plans, handling probate administration, developing business succession plans, and assisting non-profit organizations with formation and tax-exempt status applications.
Laurel earned her LL.M. in taxation from Boston University, with an estate planning concentration. She received her J.D. and undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Northeastern University. During law school, Laurel served as a law clerk for Greater Boston Legal Services where she represented indigent clients in Social Security Disability Benefits appeals, housing discrimination matters, and elder rights cases. She also served as chair of the Cooperative Income Sharing Program, leading a team of over 30 employees in a student-run business that raises student scholarship money through coffee and apparel sales on campus.
