- Represented the largest global association of regulated funds in the United States related to the proper interpretation of the escheat standard for securities in the California Unclaimed Property law.
- Represented one of the largest entertainment companies in appeals of unclaimed property decisions issued in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
- Obtained a motion for summary disposition against the Michigan Department of Treasury on the issue that the statute of limitations barred the Treasurer from requiring the escheat of unclaimed property.
- Represented dozens of Fortune 500 companies across various industries in multistate unclaimed property audits.
- Provided planning and advice for the implementation and restructuring of national companies’ gift card and loyalty programs.
- Obtained a dismissal with prejudice in an unfair competition class action where plaintiff alleged that misleading on-screen ATM prompts caused consumers to make unwanted balance inquiries, thereby generating additional fee assessments.

Daniel Dubin focuses his practice on cutting-edge, nationwide matters in unclaimed property and consumer protection. Daniel is a cross-practice litigator with significant experience representing clients in pre-litigation disputes during unclaimed property audits and voluntary disclosure agreement programs, as well as high-stakes cases against both public and private entities in state and federal courts. Daniel has litigated individual and class action cases spanning several topics including unclaimed property, unfair competition, deceptive practices, false advertising, and whistleblower claims.
Daniel also advises clients on structuring their unclaimed property, gift card, subscription, rewards, and loyalty programs to comply with state unclaimed property and consumer protection laws. He has drafted and revised terms and conditions, intercompany agreements, and third-party contracts for dozens of companies in the entertainment, gaming, hospitality, financial services, retail, and manufacturing industries.
Daniel has authored articles and has been quoted in major publications, including Law360, Bloomberg Law, The Hollywood Reporter, and BuzzFeed. He was named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers.
