• Representing an Atlanta-based REIT in the negotiation of Class A office leases throughout the country.
• Assisted a developer in the acquisition, development, and financing of a tri-tower, mixed-use project in Midtown Atlanta, which was named as the winner of the “Development of Excellence in Office and Commercial Mixed-Use Development” by the Urban Land Institute.
• Serving as associate counsel to an Atlanta-based industrial developer on leasing, acquisition and disposition matters nationwide.

Colony Canady is a senior associate in Alston & Bird's Real Estate Group. Colony focuses her practice on the acquisition, ground-up development, financing, leasing, and disposition of commercial real estate projects across several asset classes, including multifamily, industrial, office, and mixed-use.

Colony is recognized in the 2020–2025 editions of The Best Lawyers in America^® “Ones to Watch” for her work in Real Estate Law. She is a graduate of Leadership Buckhead, and is a member of the board of directors of Cool Girls, Inc. Colony was recently nominated and selected to be a part of the 2023 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, Pathfinder Program.

Colony received her J.D. in 2012 from the Emory University School of Law, where she also received her certification in Transactional Law & Skills as part of Emory University’s Center for Transactional Law and Practice program. Colony received her B.A. in political science from the University of Georgia in 2008.
