Alston & Bird has been recognized as a 2024 “Champion of Justice” by Amicus ALJ for the firm’s representation of various individuals, notably one who was held in jail for eight years while facing capital punishment after four people were murdered at a bonfire in rural Georgia in 2016. After a lengthy trial, he was acquitted of all 30 charges. The acquittal was the first of its kind in Georgia in decades.
Founded to fight for those facing death sentences in the United States, UK-based Amicus ALJ honored Alston & Bird with this distinction in the law firm category at the Champions of Justice Awards 2024 ceremony on November 12.
