Alston & Bird has strengthened its Real Estate Finance & Investment Group with the addition of partner Lauren Scarantino in New York. She focuses her practice on commercial real estate finance.
“Lauren is a fantastic addition to our team, which works closely with clients on the structuring and documentation of the entire capital stack for real estate projects across the nation,“ said Carson Leonard, partner and co-chair of Alston & Bird’s Real Estate Finance & Investment Group. “With Lauren on board, our team is even stronger and better able to advise major banks and other institutional investors on all aspects of mortgage and mezzanine finance.”
Arriving from Blank Rome, Scarantino represents institutional investors, life insurance companies, commercial banks, investment banks, debt funds, and opportunity funds in a variety of complex single and multi-asset financings of commercial real estate lending transactions. These financings include permanent loans, bridge loans, mezzanine loans, mortgage loans for commercial mortgage-backed securitization (CBMS) programs, loan participations, loan assumptions, and sales and loan modifications, including loan pledges to warehouse facilities. Her experience also encompasses loan syndication, acquisition and disposition of mortgage and mezzanine loans, A/B notes, participation interests and mortgage-backed securities, acquisition and disposition of commercial properties, formation of real estate joint ventures and partnerships, debt restructurings, loan modifications, and workouts.
Situated at the intersection of capital flows and real property, Alston & Bird’s Real Estate Finance & Investment Group advises leading commercial and investment banks, institutional investors, and developers on their deals from conception to completion. Located in offices across the country, the interdisciplinary group integrates seamlessly with the firm’s seasoned corporate, securities, finance, and tax attorneys to resolve clients’ most complex and challenging matters.
