Alston & Bird client Graphic Packaging Holding Company, a leading global provider of sustainable fiber-based packaging solutions, has announced its intention to acquire Americraft Carton, one of North America’s largest privately owned paperboard folding carton producers, in a transaction valued at approximately $280 million.
Under the terms of the deal, Graphic Packaging intends to acquire seven Americraft Carton converting facilities and all the company’s employees. When completed, the acquisition would extend Graphic Packaging’s end markets and customer base.
Headquartered in Atlanta and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, Graphic Packaging is one of the largest global producers of folding cartons and paper-based foodservice products. It holds leading market positions in coated recycled paperboard, coated unbleached kraft paperboard, and solid bleached sulfate paperboard.
