Alston & Bird client Repeater Communications Group LLC, a leading operator of leased rooftop telecommunications sites in New York City and surrounding markets, announced the completion of its combination with InSite Wireless Group LLC, one of the largest privately owned tower and wireless infrastructure companies in the U.S.
The combination will expand InSite’s portfolio of urban rooftop assets and give it a significant foothold in some of the nation’s largest BTA (Basic Trading Areas) markets as it expands into 5G technology.
Based in Alexandria, VA, InSite develops, owns, and operates wireless communications infrastructure facilities spanning more than 2,000 telecommunications towers and sites across the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, and Australia.
Founded in 1968, Repeater Communications is based in Great Neck, NY, and operates approximately 3,500 co-located rooftop and tower communications sites throughout the northeastern U.S. and the central coast of California.
Advising Repeater Communications in the transaction was an Alston & Bird team led by partner James Vincequerra (Financial Restructuring & Reorganization), partner James Sullivan and senior associate Gerard Hart (Corporate & Business Transactions), partner Edward Tanenbaum and associate April McLeod (Federal & International Tax), and partner Brett Coburn (Labor & Employment).
