Robert Edge, senior counsel in Alston & Bird’s Wealth Planning Group, has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree by Clayton State University.
Presented at the university’s spring 2018 commencement on May 5, 2018, the degree recognizes Edge’s key roles in establishing Spivey Hall – Clayton State’s nationally admired recital hall – and the Walter and Emilie Spivey Foundation, Inc., for which he has served on the board of trustees for more than 30 years and currently is vice chairman.
The honorary degree is but the latest award bestowed on Edge in recent months for his contributions to Atlanta’s arts life for several decades. In February 2018, he was recognized by ArtsATL with its 2018 Amaranth Award for Philanthropic Legacy.
