Alston & Bird partners Patrick Sargent and Patrick Hanchey have been elected as Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation.
Fellows are selected for their outstanding professional achievements and demonstrated commitment to the improvement of the justice system throughout the state of Texas.
Both Sargent and Hanchey are based in Alston & Bird’s Dallas office. Sargent, who is a member of the firm’s Finance Group, focuses on structured finance and capital market transactions, including commercial mortgage and other asset securitizations. Hanchey is a member of the Financial Services & Products Group, where he represents banks and other financial institutions in matters involving state and federal banking laws, regulations, enforcement actions, and other corporate activities such as mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions.
Sargent and Hanchey are the most recent Alston & Bird attorneys elected as Texas Bar Foundation Fellows. In 2007, Frank Sheeder, partner in the firm’s Health Care Litigation Group, was also elected a Fellow.
The Texas Bar Foundation is the largest charitably funded bar foundation in the country. Founded in 1965 by lawyers determined to assist the public and improve the profession of law, the foundation has maintained its mission of using the financial contributions of its membership to build a strong justice system for all Texans.
