David Keating, Kim Peretti, Cara Peterman, Kathleen Benway and Kellen Dwyer will be speakers at this event that brings together thought leaders in the areas of privacy and security law.
David Keating will host the panel “Regulatory Pitfalls under State Comprehensive Privacy Law.” He will discuss standards in the California Consumer Privacy Act and other state comprehensive privacy laws that can easily be overlooked but which create meaningful risk.
Kim Peretti and Cara Peterman will present “The Board’s Oversight Role in Cybersecurity: Trends in Preparedness and Response.” They will discuss the evolving role of boards in cyber incident response as well as approaches to prepare, including tabletop exercises, independent reviews, and more.
Kathleen Benway will speak on the panel "FTC Privacy Paradigm Shift: Will It Last?" She will discuss her perspective on a highly active period under the leadership of Lina Khan that introduced a variety of new tools and strategies in privacy enforcement, and what to expect under a new administration.
Kellen Dwyer will speak on the panel "Espionage or Warfare? Preventing and Responding to Nation-State Cyber Threats." He will discuss the nation-state threat landscape, what the U.S. government is doing to at-risk industries, and steps organizations can take to prevent and respond to APT threats.
