The California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) will introduce general data minimization obligations when it goes into effect on January 1, 2023. This new requirement will prompt businesses to continually evaluate their data collection practices and determine the purposes for which data is collected and processed, which will make data minimization and disposal a priority for companies in the coming year. We will address key considerations for implementation of this new CPRA requirement as well as the potential consequences for organizations that fail to prioritize implementing secure data disposal strategies and data minimization. This panel will feature women leaders in cybersecurity with experience navigating these issues as in-house counsel.
