Meaghan Boyd will speak on the panel “Ethics: Working with Scientists and Other Nonlawyer Professionals: Ethical Challenges for Environmental and Energy Lawyers.”
Environmental and energy lawyers routinely work with environmental scientists, engineers, and other nonlawyer professionals. This interactive panel composed of environmental lawyers and an engineer will discuss the ethical challenges that relate to a lawyer’s interactions with professional consultants. Panelists will discuss ethical issues that may arise in both litigation and transactional settings. Topics will include the retention process, communications with nonlawyer professionals, and report preparation. Attendees will learn tips on how to avoid making mistakes when working with nonlawyers.
